Boys will be boys at Camp Becket

A YMCA camp for boys, Camp Becket (a.k.a. Camp Becket-in-the-Berkshires) was founded in 1903 by a man named George Hannum. Over a century of fun times and lifelong memories started there on Rudd Pond in Becket, Massachusetts. One of the oldest continually running summer camps in the country, Camp Becket is considered to be one of the best.

There’s a lot going on at Camp Becket. Choose from fun camp activities like Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Archery, Riflery, Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking Creative Arts, Photography, Woodshop, Music, Drama, Climbing, High/Low Ropes Course, Nature, Outdoor Living Skills, and a whole lot more!

Campers go to the same three activities on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and alternate with another three activities on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday while Sundays are left open to Village events.

Enjoy the performing arts and music classes in the jewel of Camp Becket—Gibson Hall is a magnificent sight that’s impressed campers since 1917. Campers can enjoy the quieter side of summer camp too in the Camp Becket Library, spending time reading, playing checkers and chess, or taking in a beautiful sunset. Get your meals in the boisterous Paul Dudley White Memorial Dining Hall, pray in the Chapel, and get well-rested in the accommodating cabins.

Boasting five athletic fields, courts for tennis, volleyball, and basketball, Camp Becket has archery ranges, a riflery range, a disk golf course, and so much more.

Camp Becket excels in teaching the younger generation to set their minds on traditional values and providing them with a sense of community and working together. It’s a place where boys spend their summers learning, laughing, and making long-lasting friendships.
