Take Everything with you; High Sierra Daypacks and Backpacks

Hey, Camp Aficionados!

It’s the last day of April which means summer camp is right around the corner for most of you. Just about any summer camper should have a backpack that they bring to camp whether you’re attending a weeklong trip or longer.

The type of backpack you get depends more on how much you expect to be outdoors, hiking trails and camping out. For extended bouts outside that last multiple days, an Internal Frame or External Frame Backpack is recommended; but for any single-day outing or even a quick overnighter, you can’t go wrong with any one of our Daypacks from High Sierra.High Sierra Backpack

With a High Sierra Daypack, you can get out there and do what you love to do this summer. Hike, climb, run, ride your bike, or just relax on the beach in total preparedness and convenience with a Daypack on your back. These packs are sure to carry your needs.

Because Daypacks are typically lightweight themselves, these packs are intended to be used for lighter loads than the bigger, framed backpacks—which is why they’re meant to be used for only daylong activities. No more than ten to fifteen pounds in these guys!

Daypacks are usually soft-backed and frameless packs.

High Sierra’s Daypacks all have a waist belt to offer you the proper weight distribution you should have when carrying weights that range ten to fifteen pounds.

The waist belts are there to allow your camper to walk freely without the pack load hitting them in the back with every step they take. Waist belts should be worn snug on the hips without overlapping the pads. This way the weight of the pack is focused around the waist and takes some of the load off of the shoulders.

Check out our Daypacks from High Sierra and be prepared for your summer camp outings.

Sincerely,

John

C&N Manufacturing: Home of the Footlocker

Hey, Crazy Campers!

If you’re an avid reader of our blog and a frequent visitor on our Web site, then you may already know some of what I’ll be discussing in today’s post—like how Everything Summer Camp wasn’t always called Everything Summer Camp. The company used to be C&N Footlockers, named after Craig and Nancy Cornell.building

Craig and Nancy founded C&N in 1987, manufacturing their classic trunks right out of the proverbial home-garage in Boyd, Wisconsin. They made 380 black footlockers—all the same size—with unmatched, rugged construction. Along with excellent customer service, C&N Footlockers was sure to be a success.

As business picked up, they started offering more colors and different sizes. They relocated in need of more space for the manufacturing and storage of their trunks.

Eventually, as business kept on increasing, they relocated once again to a bigger building which is the same building that we still reside in today! In the building’s factory is where every single C&N Footlocker is manufactured.

We remain modest people at Everything Summer Camp, but facts are facts and C&N Footlockers are truly the best camp trunks you can find. The interior of our trunks are covered with DuraWrap Liner. It’s water-resistant, odor-free, and virtually tear-proof. Made with unquestionably rock-solid craftsmanship, C&N Footlockers are built to last a lifetime.

Everything Summer Camp, the home of C&N Footlockers, now offers four different trunk sizes, over twenty colors and patterns, and lots of awesome trunk accessories that really optimize the use of your camp trunks.

A lot has changed since we got our start twenty-six years ago, but we’re still just as dedicated to making our trunks the same way we always have. That’s why we still brand every trunk we make with the C&N Footlockers emblem. Happy camping!

Sincerely,

John

Stick it to ‘em with our Stick On Name Labels

Hey, Camp Preppers!

As I mentioned on this blog a couple days ago, it’s very important to label your belongings at camp be it a water bottle, flashlight, toothbrush, etc.—whatever you may have, you want to make sure that you’re bringing the same items back home with you as when you first left for camp.

Could you imagine bringing home someone else’s water bottle? Or worse—their toothbrush?!

At Everything Summer Camp, we’ve been hard at work in between our busy summer camp seasons, developing and perfecting our processes for the products that we make right here in our own facility. Our New Stick On Name Labels are a great improvement from the original product—our Waterproof Name Labels.Stick On Labels_Main_rgb

Not a whole lot has changed about this product from one name to the next. You still get to choose exactly what you want your name labels to read, the labels are still just as powerfully waterproof as they always were, they’re even printed on the same glossy, waterproof pages that we used last year.

So what’s the difference between the Waterproof kids Name Labels from last year and our dazzling new Stick On Name Labels this year? We thought to offer colorized name labels. We basically dye the waterproof label sheets a variety of fun colors and offer four of our very own, cool designs as well—the Camo, Hex, Botanical Explosion, and Dots backgrounds.

These colorful labels are durable and stick to any hard, smooth, and clean surface. Have fun spelling out your name and anything else you want your labels to read and we’ll print it out on our shiny, variety of awesome backgrounds. Make sure all of your gear is tagged and decorated with these fun, NEW Stick On Personalized Name Labels!

Till next time, Campers!

Sincerely,

John

Employee Bio: Jessica

Hey, Camp Preppers!

As the end of April draws near and we move into the prime time for summer camp preparations, it’s good to remind yourself that the end result of all your hectic planning is a fun summer camp experience for your camper. That’s why, despite how busy we get at Everything Summer Camp, we always strive to keep our work environment fun.

For today’s blog post I’d like to tell you about another one of Everything Summer Camp’s excellent employees: Jessica. You can always count on Jessica for an infectious smile and a good laugh to keep things light around the office.jessica2

Hired on for our seasonal help last year in the call center, Jessica showed exceptional skills in customer service—handling inbound calls and the occasional “problem order.” Soon after last year’s busy season came to an end, Jessica was asked to stay on year-round and was then made the Call Center Supervisor.

If you placed an order over the phone for camp trunks or any camping supplies in the last year, there’s a good chance that you’ve spoken with Jessica.

It seems nothing short of fitting that Jessica should have found a place for herself here at Everything Summer Camp since she spent six years in elementary education, teaching second and third graders. That was when she lived in North Dakota.

After that she went on to work as a Childcare Director where she spent her days with infants and getting to know kids as old as seniors in high school as a substitute teacher. It’s safe to say that working at Everything Summer Camp suits Jessica very well and definitely fits the theme that her work history has developed.

Someone who has worked with, and to help, kids for so long must have really enjoyed their own childhood—right? Jessica fondly recalls her days as a girl scout in Camp Nawakwa, WI. It was there that she learned to make spaghetti—which is now her husband’s favorite meal. It was also where she and a friend learned to canoe—but not before needlessly circling for who-knows-how-long!

Everything Summer Camp is more than happy to have such a diligent, down-to-earth employee as Jessica. Give us a call and maybe you can talk to her too!

Sincerely,

John

Labeling Your Clothing Just Got Easier!

Hey, Camp Aficionados!

If this isn’t your first time to camp then you probably already know how important it is to label just about everything that you take with you. That goes for water bottles, flashlights, a toothbrush, even your clothes—especially your clothes. Labeled clothing is actually required for lots of camps that offer laundry services to their campers.

That’s why we’ve been hard at work here at Everything Summer Camp, developing and improving the products that we make right here in our own facility. Our New Iron On Clothing Name Labels are our most revamped product!Iron-On Clothing Name Labels

Ironing name tapes onto clothes is tedious and time-consuming enough, so we made them faster and easier to transfer onto your kid’s camp clothing than our original, polyester labels (which are still available). Our New Name Labels are printed on a thin vinyl material that responds to heat quicker than the polyester labels. These labels become part of the shirt in no time.

You have a whole new palette of options to choose from for your font, an icon, and fun colors or cool designs for the background of your iron on labels like Camo, Dots, Hex, and Botanical Explosion.

As I already mentioned above, we make our name labels here in our own local shop. They get printed out on one of our wide-format printers. This printer also has a blade that it uses to follow a cut path that it’s received from the computer. It’s pretty impressive to see it in action.

After printing out your custom made labels and tracing out the cut path, we peel the outside top layer of vinyl to display a sheet of twenty-four Iron On Labels. Two sheets come in each set of forty-eight, or four sheets in a set of ninety-six.

Make sure your clothes go home with you after camp’s over.

Sincerely,

John

Thank you Robert Borland!

Hey, Camp Enthusiasts!

From time to time on this blog I like to post about other companies with whom Everything Summer Camp is proud to do business. In March I talked about some great companies—Kamik, Woolrich, Crazy Creek, and Kelty.

For today’s post I want to talk about The Bug Patch—not the actual patch, but the company responsible for it, Quick Start Marketing, LLC. Last week, I posted about the way that the actual Bug Patch works (which pretty much necessitates a post completely on its own).

But in summary, it works by placing a uniform shipment of the B1 vitamin—thiamin directly into your bloodstream. The B1 thiamin then gets secreted through your pores as you sweat, which masks the odor of carbon dioxide that the bugs seem to like so much.

The bugs won’t even realize you’re around!Bug Patch for natural insect repellent

It’s a pretty clever idea that belongs to a Mr. Robert Borland. Robert’s Bug Patch works on a completely natural level. There’s no DEET or any other chemically-based activity happening underneath this natural insect repellent.

And The Bug Patch leaves you with no smell, no residue, no restrictions, no bugs! From ticks to mosquitoes to chiggers to gnats to black and yellow flies, the Bug Patch guarantees your protection from all of them for 24 hours using just one patch!

The Bug Patches have been awarded the National Parenting “Seal of Approval,” so you know that it’s a perfectly safe insect repellent for kids. This product is 100% natural and doctor recommended.

Robert started marketing The Bug Patch in 2004. And for the last nine years it’s really created a buzz since Quick Start Marketing, LLC was first founded in Robert’s garage.

The company has grown and expanded since then, now occupying larger facilities in Pinckard, Alabama where all of The Bug Patch’s packaging, shipping, and administrative functions happen. Everything Summer Camp is thrilled to be offering such an ingenious product as Robert Borland’s Bug Patch!

I think I’ll speak for everyone who uses The Bug Patch this summer when I say, “Thanks, Rob!”

Until next time, Campers.

Sincerely,

John

New Laundry Bags – Contain Those Dirty Duds!

Hey there, Camp Fans!

If you’re no first-timer to summer camp, then I’m sure you already know how useful of an item a laundry bag is to have with you during the time you spend at camp whether it’s just a single week stay or you’re gone for a whole month!

It’s always nicer to have a designated place where you can go with the dirty clothes you’ve worn and played around in. Without a laundry bag, you’re pretty much forced to stuff your dirty clothes in your camp trunk or duffel bag or whatever else you may have that you’re trying to live out of.

This technique of “putting away” dirty clothes will most-likely be placing them in the same vicinity as your clean clothes and only serve to smell up your camp trunk or what have you.

Take a look at our new Fashion Laundry Bags from Thread Art for a stylish, 100% Microfiber Polyester, printed bag that offers ample room for your camp clothes as your summer camp stay goes on! Thread Art fashion Laundry Bags

Lightweight and durable, these bags are made to carry a good load. Pull its drawstring to cinch the bag and keep your dirty clothes out of sight and out of mind—oh yeah!—and out of smell too!

The linen laundry bags make for easy transportation come the ride home after your camp stay comes to an end. Or if the camp that you attend offers a laundry service, it’s a great way to carry your camp clothes back to your room after being washed.

Pick your favorite pattern that pops out to your own personality. It makes for an easy way to spot your own from everyone else’s laundry bags as well. The interior lining is the same color as the drawstring. Get a bag with Hot Pink Dots, Green Paisley, White Paisley, Aqua Dots, Hot Pink Paisley, or Blue Paisley right here at Everything Summer Camp.

That’s all for today, Campers. Until next time.

Sincerely,

John
